- The full school uniform must be worn on all official occasions. Inappropriate jewellery or make-up should not be worn in school. Pupils with pierced ears may wear one pair of small metal studs only. Hair must be kept neat and tidy. The School will decide what is acceptable in appearance.
- Noisy or unbecoming conduct inside the school or on the way to school will be regarded as a school offence.
- Pupils are forbidden to smoke, drink or use illegal substances in school and in public places while wearing uniform.
- Damage to school property must be reported at once to the office. Where items of property are damaged wilfully or through carelessness the pupils responsible will be required to pay for the repairs.
- No pupil may leave the school grounds during the school day without permission. Parents must sign the tear-off slips provided in the School Planner if they wish to withdraw their child from school. Pupils who have permission must carry an Exeat Slip signed by the appropriate member of staff.
- A pupil returning to school after an absence must bring a note of explanation, signed by parent or guardian. (Tear-off slips for this purpose are provided in the School Planner.) This should be handed in to the office. Whenever possible, a request for permission for absence should be made in advance.
- The gymnasium, sports hall and all specialist rooms are out of bounds unless a member of staff is present.
- Pupils must use the footpaths provided within the school grounds.
- All articles of uniform and personal possessions must be marked with the owner's name. All books should carry the owner's name on the label. Names of previous owners should not be removed or obliterated.
- Pupils must not be in school before 8.45 a.m. They may go to cloakrooms, Sixth Form Centres and offices before 9.10 a.m., at Break, at Lunch time and after school - but NOT at Assembly time or between periods.
- The bells at 9.05 a.m. and 1.50 p.m. are warning bells. Pupils should go at once to their classrooms.
- Pupils should keep to the left on passages and on the stairs. In the Junior School the main stairs are for traffic moving upwards and the back stairs for downward traffic.
- Pupils must not run within the school building.
- Pupils must not crowd round doors, into the Canteens or around the head of the stairs.
- Pupils will be given at least one day's notice of after-school detention, so that they will be able to advise their parents of the reason for their late arrival home.
- No chewing-gum, matches, lighters, Tippex (solvents) or permanent felt-tip markers may be brought to school. Mobile phones should be switched off before entering classrooms, library, study halls and Assembly. Using the camera and/or sound recording facility of the mobile phone or other device anywhere within the school confines is strictly prohibited. Pupils who bring other valuable electronic devices to school do so at their own risk.
- Valuables and sums of money which have been brought to school should be left in the office or with members of staff for safe keeping. Pupils are advised not to bring valuable casual clothing or designer clothes into school. They do so at their own risk.
Pupils bringing cars to school should park in the designated pupils' car park. This car park is out of bounds between 9.10 a.m. and 3.40 p.m.
Leaving school by car without prior permission is forbidden.
The speed restrictions posted in the school grounds must be respected at all times.
The school disclaims all responsibility for:-
- damage to pupils' cars while in the school grounds;
- cars driven by pupils to school functions;
- the safety of pupils who are passengers in pupils' cars.
The Principal reserves the right to instruct a pupil not to bring his/her car into school.
